There are lots of different pathways working in the business side of the aviation industry. You can gain specialist tertiary qualifications or join an airline in an entry level role. For example starting in Airport check-in then gaining experience and qualifications as you progress.

University

  • Entry Requirements: Yr 12 or equivalent required
  • Assistance: Govt fee assistance usually available

Airlines & airports need a full range of expertise from generalist qualifications such as commerce, communications or finance, to specialist degrees such as law. If you’d like to specialise in Aviation you can study a Bachelor of Aviation Management which covers all facets of the industry.

TAFE & Colleges

  • Assistance: Government fee assistance usually available

Certificates and diplomas gained at TAFE are well regarded in the aviation industry. These can be in the areas of commerce, marketing, sales, project management, finance, accounting, legal, procurement, contracting and many more. These skills are all in demand in the aviation industry.
