You’re good with your hands and love a practical job where you’re moving
around physically and interacting with people. Most airport jobs are practical, with on the job training so you get paid while you’re learning.Some positions require certification training that
specialise in Aviation Operations.
TAFE and a few aviation specific colleges offer Certificate II & Certificate III in Aviation Ground Operations and Service. This is a very practical certificate to study if an Airport is where you’d like to work. To become an Air Traffic Controller you study a Diploma in Aviation (Air Traffic Control). This course is taught by Airservices Australia, the employer of all Air Traffic Controllers in Australia.
The majority of airport roles include on the job training. Employers support and encourage on the job training including completion of courses to gain Certificate II/III/IV and Diplomas in Aviation.
