Examples of roles include working in an Integrated Operations Centre monitoring and managing flights, or working in an airline’s dispatch centre, preparing documentation and approvals allowing an aircraft to depart from one airport and land at another. Flight Operations is the first point of contact for pilots and cabin crew when they are operating a flight. If you would love the dynamic, fast paced side of the Airline industry and thrive on responsibility Flight Operations roles are rewarding

Cabin Crew

  • Entry Requirements: On the job training provided
  • Experience Required: Entry Level roles available

You are confident, friendly, a ‘people-person’ and a team player. Flight Attendants are the face of the airline you work for, passengers depend on you for their safety and comfort. Flying rosters give you a flexible lifestyle and opportunities for travel. No two days are the same because you’re flying different routes with different roster patterns. Airlines give you thorough training in service standards and protocols, they vary slightly from airline to airline and are important for offering passengers the best service and experience for each flight. A cabin crew role is a great entry level role into an airline that gives you great opportunity to travel and gives you a great sense of pride.

Airport Check-In & Operations

You like a fast paced, dynamic workplace, you like working with people and you are calm under pressure. Airport customer services officers look after customer service at departure gates so you move around the airport working with lots of different people during your shift. Airport staff are responsible for Flight Control, the process of allocating seats on an aircraft, monitoring seat availability and making sure that the passenger side of the operation runs smoothly and everything is ready in time for the aircraft to depart.

Safety & Quality

  • Entry Requirements: Bachelor and industry experience
  • Experience Required: Mid to senior experience required

You’re technically minded, logical and responsible. Safety is the number one priority of an airline and extends to all areas of the business. Each airline has its own safety management team for on the ground and in the air. Safety teams monitor or advise on issues from Cargo carriage safety to Airside Risk Management.

Airlines also have Quality teams who work with each department of the airline to make sure quality is consistent across every aspect of the operation. You can transfer from a functional department to work in Safety or Quality but an academic qualification is usually preferred such as Human Factors or Aviation Safety.
